Talking about Organic and Inorganic Pigments

Inorganic pigments are oxides of non-ferrous metals, or some metal-insoluble metal salts. Inorganic pigments are further divided into natural inorganic pigments and artificial inorganic pigments. Natural inorganic pigments are mineral pigments.

Organic pigments are colored organic compounds, which are also divided into natural and synthetic categories. Synthetic organic pigments are now commonly used. There are many types of organic pigments, and the colors are relatively complete. The performance is superior to that of inorganic pigments.

Inorganic pigments are mainly carbon black and metal oxides or salts such as iron, titanium, barium, zinc, cadmium, and lead.

Organic pigments can be classified into mono-azo, disazo, lake, phthalocyanine or condensed ring pigments.

Inorganic pigments are resistant to sunlight, heat, weather, solvent, and hiding power. However, chromatograms are not complete, the coloring power is low, the color is bright, and some metal salts and oxides are toxic.

Organic pigments are diverse in structure, chromatographic complete, bright and pure color, and strong coloring power, but some products are light-resistant, weather-resistant and solvent-resistant. High-grade organic pigments also have good light, weather, and solvent resistance, but they are expensive.
