At the Indian Plastics Industry Exhibition 2006 held in New Delhi, India, from February 9th to 14th, Rajoo, headquartered in Manavadar, India, exhibited the production line for the first time. According to the company's president, Sunil Jain, the line is designed with anti-spiral stacking technology and will be used to produce polyethylene film for markets such as food and meat packaging.
Jain said in an interview at the Indian Plastics Industry Exhibition: “What we want to do is actually not new. We just introduce the technology into the region. The timing of the listing is crucial. There are plenty of opportunities in this market, but now Still need to be excavated."
Rajoo was founded in 1986 and has two factories in Rajkot and Manavadar, Gujarat, India. The two plants are continuously adding equipment and expanding machine manufacturing capacity. Currently, there are a total of 300 employees in both factories. The company's products include single-layer production lines and multilayer production lines for the manufacture of blown film films and thermoplastic molding equipment.
Jain said publicly-held Rajoo has grown at an average annual rate of 25% over the past five years, and as the company and its market share continue to expand, this figure is expected to fall to 15% in 2006.
About 70% of Rajoo's mechanical equipment is exported to the Persian Gulf, Southeast Asia, Asia Pacific, Latin America and Mexico. However, as Indian plastic consumption will double by 2010, the Indian domestic market will become more important to the company.
Rajoo was founded in 1986 as a cutting machine manufacturer. The company was converted to a blown film production line in 1988.
The company delivered a blown film line to customers in Tanzania in 1990 and has since started its export business.
As a pioneer in the Indian plastics machinery market, the company pioneered several of the first Indian markets in the field of co-extruded feeds for chemically blown PE blown film and multi-layer plastic sheets and PET plastic sheet production lines.
As of fiscal year 2004-05 in March 2005, Rajoo achieved sales of more than US$7 million. Jain said it expects the company to create sales of $8 million in fiscal year 2005-06.
