Chapter 1 Range of Technical Ratings
Article 1 The clubs and related practitioners participating in the technical grade assessment must be certified by the China Mountaineering Association.
Article 2 The clubs and related practitioners participating in the technical grade assessment must apply voluntarily and pay a certain assessment fee and management fee.
Chapter II Technical Levels and Standards
Article 3 The China Mountaineering Association implements three levels of technical standards for mountaineering outdoor sports clubs and related practitioners: A, AA, and AAA from low to high.
Article 4 The A standard is:
1. Technical skills of 1 or more intermediate and 2 or more junior technicians (including climbing instructors, outdoor sports instructors, mountain guides, extension trainers, etc.) and several auxiliary technicians (protectors, medical personnel, etc.).
2. Officially registered members are more than 50 people.
3. Technical equipment that meets the requirements of the national technical standards (in preparation) for more than 50 persons per organization.
4. Organize more than 10 outdoor sports activities or competitions each year.
5. Successfully organized or contracted more than 2 county-level or regional-level events or competitions.
6. There is no record of major casualties caused by human factors.
Article 5 The AA standard is:
1. Technical skills of 2 or more junior technicians (including rock climbing instructors, outdoor sports instructors, mountain guides, extension trainers, etc.) and a number of auxiliary technicians (protectors, medical personnel, etc.).
2, registered members in more than 100 people.
3. Technical equipment that organizes outdoor sports for more than 60 people each time.
4. Organize more than 15 outdoor sports activities or competitions each year.
5. Successfully organized or contracted more than 2 regional or one or more provincial events or competitions.
6. There is no record of major casualties caused by human factors.
Article 6 The AAA standard is:
1. Technical skills of 3 or more middle-level and 5 or more junior technicians (including climbing instructors, outdoor sports instructors, mountain guides, extension trainers, etc.) and a number of auxiliary technicians (protectors, medical personnel, etc.).
2. More than 300 registered members.
3. Technical equipment that organizes outdoor sports for more than 100 people each time.
4. Organize more than 20 outdoor sports activities or competitions each year.
5. Successfully organized or contracted more than 2 provincial or 1 national events or competitions.
6. There is no record of major casualties caused by human factors.
Chapter III Assessment Procedures
Article 7 The procedure for assessing technical grades is:
1. Clubs and relevant practitioners with the China Mountaineering Association Certificate of Qualification apply to the China Mountaineering Association and pay a certain amount of assessment fees (Grade A does not need to apply).
2. The China Mountaineering Association employs 5, 7 relevant experts (generally members of the respective professional committees) to form a technical rating team to review the clubs and related practitioners that submitted the application (when necessary, on site visits).
Chapter IV Management of Technical Grade Standards
Article 8 The technical grade standard is valid for one year. After one year, it is required to apply for extension of the validity period or re-apply for technical grades.
Chapter V Demotion or Cancellation of Technical Grade Standards
Article 9 The Chinese Mountaineering Association has the right to demote or cancel its technical grade standards in the following situations:
1. There have been major changes in technical conditions that cannot meet the existing technical grade standards.
2. Due to man-made causes of major casualties.
3, not on time to apply for extension of validity or re-apply for assessment of technical level.
4. Qualified by China Mountaineering Association for qualification certification.
