German plastic packaging industry is full of hope for 2017

According to a survey by the German Plastic Packaging Association IK , German plastic packaging manufacturers believe that 2017 will be a year of optimistic economic development. IK stated that there is also a more optimistic assessment of the company’s turnover and exports in the first three months of 2017.

However, for the survey, 70% of the companies questioned the results, and another 30% were satisfied with the results.

Of these, more than 50% of respondents expect that rising raw material costs in the coming weeks will inevitably lead to higher prices for related packaging. In 2017, another key factor in the plastic packaging industry is the respect for sustainable development. 80% of the respondents said that they will invest in improving energy efficiency this year to reduce carbon emissions.

The biggest problem in 2017 is still the payment of energy taxes.
