Fun ball chewing gum packaging design

Cadbury's unique new gum packaging features a spherical design. The Cadbury French company's Hollywood chewing gum is sold in Spain as Trident's pat, while in Northern Europe it is sold under the Trident brand. The company recently introduced a smart new spherical clamshell packaging with 70 chewing gums, which is very different from the traditional 10- or 20-pack strip or blister packaging.

Fabien Guyot, packaging development manager at Cadbury Schweppes's EMEAS&T chewing gum and mints division, said: “This new packaging idea is mainly to create a new chewing gum consumption form. Unlike portable packaging, people can It is placed at home, in the office, or in a car, creating opportunities to enjoy chewing gum fun anytime, anywhere in their daily lives."

He said that the purpose of designing this plastic ball packaging is to quickly enter the rapidly growing chewing gum market. He said, "We chose spherical design from the very beginning. It is obvious that we need to choose a label (label). The label allows consumers to see at a glance that the product has not been opened in any way, and it can Provide an ideal medium for delivering complete product information through packaging."

Cadbury chose to use a film sleeve manufactured by SleeverIntl.(). It is said that SleeverIntl. provided full assistance from the initial design of the project, to the selection of the label film, to the production and application of the sleeve label. Guyot said he was particularly satisfied with the sincere cooperation between the two companies in the development of the packaging/products. He said: "We are able to make full use of their expertise and reliable feedback so that we can clearly understand a range of technical possibilities and how to make full use of the Sleever system."

Guyot said that despite the use of flat-panel printing, the sleeve label can perfectly wrap the spherical chewing gum jar without any deformation or blemishes. The new sleeve is based on Sleever's advanced SI-OPS-TF/060 film, which is said to have the best tear resistance to ensure product safety.

He added: "The SI-OPS-TF/060 has micro-perforations on it. We can use it to make sure that the product can be easily opened while ensuring that the product is clean. You can use an ultraviolet system to shrink the film onto the package. Instead of using steam, this ensures that no damage is caused to the product during the packaging process under any circumstances."
